The history of the Holy Roman
Empire makes it easy to see why the Imperial Scouts and Guides of the
Holy Roman Empire are predominantly Catholic in nature. This, of
course, not only includes Roman Rite and those in communion with the
Pope, but Anglo-Catholics and Orthodox as well. The HRE, however, was
historically not exclusively Catholic, and following in this
tradition, membership and the awards are available to non-Catholics
as well. It is in this spirit of ecuminism that the HRE, maintaining
the strength of its traditions, uses the Imperial Scouts and Guides
to further its mission of preservation of history, the Church, and
the promotion of freedom around the world.
